As a consumer and lifestyle driven channel, images and copy on Facebook should reflect a range of family types, ethnicities, marital statuses, disabilities, large/small family groups, and geographies/settings.

Image Descriptions (Via Native Facebook Upload)

  1. Click Photo/Video at the bottom of the Create Post screen.
  2. Select the photo you want to add.
  3. Click Edit Photo (paintbrush icon), then click Alt Text.
  4. The automatically generated text will be shown on the left side of your photo. 
  5. Write your Alt-Text in the box. 
  6. To save your alt text, click Save in the bottom right.

Image Descriptions (Via Sprinklr Upload)

  1. Create your Facebook post in Sprinklr.
  2. Select and upload the post's photo.
  3. Type the image’s corresponding Alt-Text in the box to the right. 
  4. Finish filling out the remaining post fields and click schedule or post.

Changing Alt Text After Posting It 

  1. Click the photo to open it.
  2. Click on the menu in the top right and select.
  3. Change Alt Text.
  4. Click Override generated alt text or change the alt text in the text box. You can also click Clear to change your edited alt text back to the automatically generated text.
  5. Click Save.

 

Be sure to always auto-generate captions, write them yourself or upload a SubRip (.srt) file. Automatic closed captioning is also available for Facebook Live and Workplace Live.

 

Uploading closed captions (Via Native Facebook)

  1. Click Photo/Video at the top of your timeline or news feed
  2. Click Upload Photo/Video
  3. Select the video you want to share and click Post
  4. Once your video is ready to view, click Options, then Edit This Video.
    •  SRT upload: You can then click Upload SRT Files and Choose File to upload an .srt file with your desired captions
  5. Auto-captioning: SRT captions are more accurate but you can also select auto-generated captions via Facebook. If you follow the same steps as above, all you need to do is switch on the “auto-generate captions” button and hit “Save.”
  6. Click Save and your fully captioned video should be ready to share

Uploading Closed Captions (Via Sprinklr)

  1. Create your Facebook post in Sprinklr.
  2. Select and upload the post's video.
  3. Hover over the video preview and select the three vertical dots. Select “Add Captions.”
  4. SRT file captions: A new popup will appear and you can type in the language of your video so Sprinklr can auto-generate captions. 
  5. Auto-generated captions: A new popup will appear and you can type in the language of your video so Sprinklr can auto-generate captions. SRT file captions are preferred. 
  6. Hit “Save” and complete the remaining post fields and click schedule or post.
