Aims of the Digital Guide for e-Learning
Bayer has a rich history of learning and development practice. Over time, this has evolved into an online medium. The aim of the Digital Guide for e-learning is to act as the hub for disseminating standard e-learning design and development practice throughout the company.
This document focuses solely on internal training.
Objectives
The specific objectives of the Digital Guide for e-Learning are:
-
To provide information to internal Bayer staff looking to collaborate with external e-learning companies on designing and developing content that will need to work within established Bayer learning management systems.
-
To serve as a point of reference for external e-learning companies involved with Bayer on e-learning design and development initiatives so that all expectations are met in line with corporate identity and technical requirements.
Target audience
The target audiences for the Digital Guide for e-Learning are:
-
Internal Bayer staff working with external e-Learning companies on producing content.
-
External e-learning companies working with Bayer to produce e-Learning content.
The production model
E-learning modules are often developed in a reactive manner, based on an assumption made from only the briefest details of the learning need. In order for a learning event and the associated e-learning modules to be fully effective, it’s highly recommended to adhere to the basic principles of a stable instructional design regardless of the final learning delivery method.
At Bayer, we produce e-Learning modules based on the established ADDIE model, which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In fact, our processes for internal production of modules are based on this model.
