Operations
Monitoring
To ensure user satisfaction, it’s essential to preemptively identify issues and respond immediately to any issues that are reported.
Stability and performance monitoring
Make sure you're able to monitor any external components of the app such as multimedia or connections to other computer systems.
You should also establish a clear procedure for users to submit crash and bug reports, making sure that any data collected complies with the data privacy and security best practices.
User feedback
Monitor the app stores for user feedback which may include common problems that are not reported directly. Additionally, as users may use the comments function to report side effects, you must monitor and report these messages to the relevant Pharmacovigilance officer.
Statistics
Detailed statistics are essential to measuring an app’s reach and success — and for identifying opportunities to improve it. For actionable metrics, this criteria should be the KPIs defined during the concept phase.
The same rules for compiling usage statistics for apps must comply with Bayer’s data privacy guidelines.
Updates
It is best to frequently update the app to fix issues and/or to add new features. Users will be notified of new app versions to quickly and easily update to the latest version. Updates can be published on request to the Bayer publishing team as a self-service.
Vendor updates
The vendors of mobile platforms (Apple, Google, BlackBerry, Microsoft) typically follow rapid and partially automated update cycles which may introduce changes that affect your app. Make sure you are aware of forthcoming releases and have a strategy to release new a version of your app, generally within 4 weeks.
Decommissioning
When the app reaches the end of its lifecycle, it should be removed from the app store. This is especially important if it is no longer possible to support an app.
