The world of social media is constantly evolving. Therefore, it is important to stay up-to-date on all of the features available on the platform. The following provides an in-depth overview of the features currently available.
Social platforms continuously add new features and functions. When new features are added, Bayer reviews external usage trends, along with how best they can serve our audiences with engaging thought-leadership and storytelling. When trying out a new feature, we should plan, test and optimize our approach with shared learnings across content creators.
Timeline Feed
A timeline displays a stream of Tweets from accounts users follow on X. You may see suggested content powered by a variety of signals. Users can reply, Retweet, or like a Tweet within the timeline. Feed posts can be photos, videos, polls, shares or text posts to share business updates or web content with your community.

The Newsfeed is where your daily feed posts will appear. You are also able to interact with your followers here.
Pinned Tweets
X makes it possible to pin one Tweet at a time that will stay at the top of your page until you remove it. A “pinned” Tweet is one which a user attaches (or "pins") to the top of their Tweet stream. It's the first Tweet people see when they visit your profile so is best used to highlight content for your community. It is the Tweet that will likely receive the most attention.

Pin Tweets around topics that are consistent with Bayer business goals and developments, or with trending global news topics. You should revisit your pinned Tweet monthly to ensure the content is still relevant or to discuss pinning a more current Tweet.
“About” Tab
The range of available or featured tabs may vary based on your location and settings. Typically, you’ll see these sections:
For you: Popular hashtags, subjects or updates that X thinks you’ll enjoy most based on your activity
Trending: What’s happening in the world
News, Sports, Fun, Entertainment tabs: Other top stories or news related to different subjects

Use this feature as a personal social listening tool to track trending topics and events that could be used to amplify key Bayer messages. Explore topics related to Bayer business topics to identify key messages and hashtags.
Lists
A List is a curated group of X accounts. You can create your own Lists or follow Lists created by others. Viewing a List timeline will show you a stream of Tweets from only the accounts on that List.
Bayer Usage Recommendation
Use Lists as a social listening tool for Bayer-affiliated, partnership, media and event attendee profiles. Lists can be used to compile Bayer-affiliated accounts to identify opportunities to cross-promote relevant content for the online community. You can also curate a List of current partnership accounts to easily track content promoted during the partnership timeline. This feature can also be used around events to gather a List of attendees to share or interact with user generated content.
Communities
X also announced a forthcoming feature called Communities, which appears similar in intent and function to Facebook Groups. People can create and join groups around specific interests — like cats, plants, or anything X may suggest based on your activity — allowing users to see more tweets focused on those topics.

The bio section of X gives users information about who your organization is and what they can expect from your content. This is also the place to place relevant links for users to learn more.
