Website Statistics
Compiling website statistics with the help of third parties
Collecting information like IP addresses for the purpose of website visitor statistics raises questions about data protection because a visitor’s IP address (the address of the computer they are using) may be considered personal information and thus subject to data protection legislation.
The use of third-party services for compiling website statistics is expressly prohibited unless Bayer retains all legal rights to the data.
Where third-party services are used then the supplier must provide written agreement that they will comply with Bayer’s data protection policy. Webmasters are required to consult with their data privacy managers before entering into any arrangements with suppliers of such services.
The standard statistics service for Bayer websites is Google Analytics 360 but only if it is implemented by Business Services. For further information about Google Analytics 360 Please contact Menasheh Fogel.
