BayerNet | myServices Training Portal System Details
IMPORTANT!
For web-based training (WBT) modules developed for the BayerNet | myServicesTraining Portal:
All WBTs have to be developed as Single SCO content. This means that the WBT must consist precisely of one module that can be included on the BayerNet | myServices Training Portal.
If you would like to structure the WBT in multiple chapters, you have to do so within the learning module. Assessments or quizzes must also be included in this one module.
The global standard learning management system within Bayer is the SAP Learning Solution, also known as the “BayerNet | myServices Training Portal.” This system is available to all Bayer employees and is fully integrated within core HR processes such as development dialogues and organizational management. The implementation of additional systems should be avoided.
The benefits of this system are:
-
Well-defined processes for e-learning rollout
-
Fully integrated organizational data
-
Direct access to full training histories by employees and their line managers
-
Integration within the development dialogue and HR data (organizational management)
-
System costs (already covered by business / countries through HR overhead cost distribution)
-
Manager Self Service — managers (R) see the training histories of their direct reports, training data available for development dialogues
-
Self-registration feature — training can be made available via a direct link (e.g., from SharePoint) and used for self-registration; this also supports centralized / decentralized mass-booking
-
Existing central helpdesk, regional hubs for THR countries
-
Platform and correspondence available in the languages of the countries in which it has been rolled out (12 languages)
-
Internet access possible (separate password)
-
SCORM and AICC compliant
-
Standard approval process for training registrations available
-
Feedback function possible for web-based training
The BDS-GS-TM Learning & Training Team found in the “contacts area” can give you further information on the system capabilities.
Rollout of e-Learning Programs in the BayerNet | myServices Training Portal
First steps
A central checklist for streamlining the rollout process for e-learning in the BayerNet | myServices Training Portal is available. It guides you through the questions that need to be considered in order to set up a seamless rollout process. Please contact the BDS-GS-TM Learning & Training Team at an early point in time: for smaller rollouts, at least 1 month before the planned due date; for larger or global rollouts, a significantly longer preparation period is necessary to have sufficient time to prepare for the rollout and obtain the necessary resources. The BDS-GS-TM Learning & Training Team goes through the checklist with you and explains the steps necessary.
Rollout Process
The main rollout process for web-based training courses consists of the following steps:
-
Requirement clarification (customer, BDS-GS-TM Learning & Training Team, and BBS-HROP Learning & Change / external partners)
-
Does content exist?
-
What is the target group (internal or external users)?
-
Is the training mandatory?
-
-
Checking user access to the learning management system to decide which system to use
-
Content upload to the learning management system
-
Creating a new training type in the learning management system
-
Course testing (functionality and content)
-
User booking
-
Sending out invitations
-
Reporting
-
Sending out reminder mails
-
Feedback reporting
Self-Booking
In addition to the booking process by HR administrators, users also have a self-booking / self-registration option.
Therefore, there are several possibilities:
-
Users can search for training courses via BayerNet | myServices Training Portal (training is visible for all Bayer employees)
-
Training can be made available with a direct link, e.g., from a SharePoint, to be used for self-registration (e.g., for special target groups)
Invitation Management
For the invitation management there are a few different options:
-
Invitations are sent out by HR administrators (24 hours after booking). The system is refreshed on a nightly basis.
-
Communication is sent by the customer after booking
-
No invitation necessary because of the self-booking process (an informational notice has to be sent out in advance, e.g., with a direct link to the training course)
Reminder Management
To ensure that users do their training, there is also the opportunity to send out reminder notifications to all users who have not yet completed the training.
Approval Workflow
An approval workflow is usually sent to the user’s respective manager after booking via BayerNet | myServices Training Portal.
The training can be accessed after the manager has approved the participation.
It is also possible to deactivate this approval workflow (e.g., for mandatory training courses). Users then receive access immediately after their self-booking/self-registration
Reporting
Please be aware that — for reasons of data privacy — only authorized individuals (who should be nominated by the customer) are able to receive reports.
There is a reporting process for each training event in order to provide an overview of training participation.
The first report is created 6 weeks after the training is rolled out. The next reports are created one time each quarter.
The following criteria are included in the report:
-
IPIN
-
Name of participant
-
Org. unit
-
Department
-
Company code
-
Name of training
-
Booking date
-
Participation status
-
CWID
-
Name of R-Manager
-
IPIN of R-Manager
Evaluation (Feedback Survey)
Certificates
After completing a web-based training, participants can receive a certificate of completion. Please use the standard training certificate that is available in the BayerNet | myServices Training Portal. It can be sent to participants by mail after they have completed the e-learning. Please keep in mind that newly created certificates need to be aligned with communications.
